Flexsource NI are working in partnership with the Agrifood and Bioscience Institute (AFBI) to hire a Animal Grassland Scientist
This is a temporary full time position, for up to 15 months.
Main Duties:
· Lead and support the delivery of cutting-edge grassland and livestock research trials, ensuring experiments are conducted to the highest scientific standards.
· Collect, manage and interpret environmental and agricultural emissions data, contributing to research that supports sustainable farming and climate resilience.
· Apply statistical and analytical techniques to complex datasets, transforming research findings into meaningful scientific insights.
· Prepare high-quality technical reports, research papers and scientific publications for academic, industry and policy audiences.
· Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams, industry stakeholders and external partners to advance innovation within grassland and livestock systems.
· Contribute to the development of research programmes that enhance agricultural productivity, environmental sustainability and net-zero ambitions.
Criteria:
· PhD in Grassland or similar discipline
· BSc in Agri Science or Environmental science & 2 years management experience of agricultural research trials
